Voronsky’s attitude to fellow writers allowed Esenin to become the leading author of “Krasnaya Nov” in 1923–1925. The poet valued the publications in this edition. Voronsky appreciated the collaboration with Esenin and devoted several monographic articles to his poetry. The information collected in the “The Chronicle of the Life and Work of S. A. Esenin” allows us to clarify the facts from the memoirs of G. A. Voronskaya and E. M. Popova about the meetings of the critic and the poet in 1923–1925. Creative ties with Esenin exacerbated Voronsky’s conflict with the Napostovites and were used against him when he was dismissed from “Krasnaya Nov”. For the first time fragments of the transcript of the meeting of the press department of the Central Committee of the CPSU(b) on April 18, 1927 are published. Here Voronsky was accused of the fact that Esenin’s work occupied a large place in the magazine “Krasnaya Nov”.
