Abstract:
The article analyzes the meter of the last lifetime collection of The Shinings by Z.N. Gippius (1938), that is considered the best in her poetic heritage. The method of typology, semantic analysis, manual content analysis is used. Based on the conducted research, a table has been compiled. All poems in the collection are characterized by the following parameters: “the title,” “the date of the first publication,” “the theme, the kind of a lyric hero, mood,” “the genre,” “the metric,” “the rhyme and stanza.” Then the calculations are made. A certain dependence of the metric (selected size) on the theme and mood of the poem has been revealed. (although, of course, there is always some subjectivity in the designation of the theme).
