Abstract:
Author’s attention is focused on the form correlation of real life and literature, authenticity (documentary evidence) and fiction, change in space and time perception. Theoretical analysis is based on the great amount of historical and cultural materials, beginning with the ancient epochs (antiquity, Middle Ages). The complex approach to the study of this material allows validating the conception of the travel genre origin and development as an implementation of the archetypical model of a “journey” in literature: journey as the course of life (in folklore); journey as the world discovery and self-discovery (in philosophy); journey as the wandering along the land surface and the space of your own thoughts (actual travels, imagination journeys, etc.).
