Abstract:
The article is devoted to the work of one of the largest modern Abkhaz writers Alexei Gogua. He began publishing in the mid-1950s. His stories and novels have become classics of Abkhaz literature. A. Gogua, according to V. Kozhinov, “managed to merge together the stylistic searches of the latest world prose and the original traditions of the Abkhaz folk culture”. The focus of the researcher is three “smal” novels by the prose writer — “Snow and Lightning”, “It was already possible to distinguish the one walking ahead”, “Boxwood thickets”. The features of the poetics of these works are shown. The problems posed in the novels go beyond the boundaries of Abkhazia proper. Against the background of the tragic historical events of the XX century. the writer reveals the images of various characters, their psychology, inner world, behavior. This is achieved by the active use of internal monologues, reflections, memories of heroes, dialogues. At the same time, the author as a whole refused to create an “ideal hero”, because life is ambiguous and much more complicated. Naturally, there is no person without sin. Another thing is the degree of sin and the consequences of the actions of this or that person for loved ones, people and country. The author generally adheres to traditional values, humanistic traditions of world classical literature, especially Russian, as well as Orthodox Christian values, which have deep roots in Abkhazia.
