Abstract:

Dedicated to the memory of the outstanding scholar, wonderful teacher and remarkable human being Yuri Mann, these recollections recount episodes from Mann’s courses “History of Russian Literature of the First Third of the 19th Century”, “Gogol’s Mosaic”, and “Gogol: The Secrets of Biography and the Secrets of Creativity” at the Russian State University for the Humanities. In particular, the author recalls his fascinating conversations about beauty, friendly dialogues and warm human relations with Mann.
