Abstract: The article aims to clarify the biography of the railway workers order bearers E.G. Zeitlin and I.A. Fedorov — the prototypes of the protagonists in A. Platonov’s stories “Immortality” and “Among Animals and Plants.” The article also discusses some preparation aspects of the literary collection “People of the Railway Power,” for which these stories were intended. The appendix contains newspaper and archival materials clarifying the realities reflected in mentioned Platonov’s stories.
