Abstract:
The article examines the diary entries of the writer and war correspondent Vsevolod Ivanov, made in late 1942 — early 1943 and dedicated to the defense of Stalingrad and the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad. It is noted that information about what is happening at the front is considered by Ivanov in the context of his understanding of international relations, primarily with allies and internal policy in the country. The content and style of the writer’s diary entries are compared with his military articles of this period. It is concluded that the data given by Ivanov, the facts and the noted details make the picture of the great battle more prominent.
