Abstract:

The article presents readers’ letters to M.A. Sholokhov with requests to tell about the further fate of the heroes of his novel “And Quiet Flows the Don”. It examines the fates of the characters’ prototypes who participated in the Great Patriotic War. M.A. Sholokhov knew the prototypes of many of his heroes well. The writer was personally acquainted with them and knew how their further destinies developed. He communicated with them, and many times came to their help.
