Abstract: The book contains the Greek text of Bacchylides’ dithyrambs with a commentary and a prose translation into Russian. Bacchylides was
active in the first half of the 5th century BC. His dithyrambs (along with several fragments from the dithyrambs of Pindar) are the only surviving examples of this celebrated genre of ancient Greek choral lyric poetry, which flourished particularly in the 5th century BC. The commentary is intended for readers who want to study Bacchylides’ dithyrambs in the original.

Keywords: Bacchylides, dithyramb, ancient Greek lyric, choral lyric
