Abstract:
The book examines the experience of the avant-garde of the first third of the 20th century in the literatures of Latin America, where it took on a very distinctive form. The phenomenon of the avant-garde is analyzed from the perspective of poetics, and the specifics of its existence in Latin American culture are explored by country and type. The book presents a panorama of avant-garde movements and groups, and examines the functioning of the Latin American type of avant-garde in the creative practices of its most prominent representatives, such as V. Huidobro, S. Vallejo, P. Neruda, and others. The presentation of the material is accompanied by extensive typological parallels, primarily with Russian culture. The results of the study allow the author to conclude that the Latin American avant-garde is conceptually different. The book includes literary manifestos by Latin American avant-garde artists as illustrative material. The book is intended for a wide range of readers interested in the poetics and practices of the avant-garde, cultural education, and the history of Latin American literature.
