Abstract: The monograph is devoted to the problem of interaction between the rhythm of prose and free indirect speech. For the first time, within the framework of a monographic study, an analysis of Ilya Zdanevich’s novels “Rapture”, “The Parizhachi”, as well as collections of his poems, was carried out. A rhythmical analysis of the Book of Revelation is presented. The study is of interest to philologists, students and a wide range of readers.
Keywords: rhythm of prose, free indirect speech, avant-garde.
