Abstract:
The article determines the role of Z. Gippius’s Blue Book in the structure of her memoir HE and WE: Dmitry Merezhkovsky. His Life, His Work. The memoirs and diary prose of Z. Gippius provide an opportunity to reason about an image of her personality, one directed at self-discovery, self-realization and yet simultaneously outward, presented to the reader to whom it was addressed. The feeling of unity with D. Merezhkovsky emerged not only in journalistic articles, expressing shared sociopolitical, religious and philosophical stances, but also in ego-documents expressing unity of a biographical nature.
