Abstract:
The article examines the poetry of S. A. Esenin through an appeal to modern theories of metaphor, analyzes the types of metaphors and the ways of their creation. The author uses concrete examples to show how a metaphor in different periods of the poet’s work determines his image system and concept of the world. Referring to the poet’s specific texts and analyzing the Esenin’s metaphorical world allows us to conclude that the main factor that determines the poet’s individual style is the work of imagination and associative thinking.
