Abstract:
The article examines the author’s collection of poetry by Sergey Esenin published in France, that was owned by Henri Abril, a poet, a translator and a critic. The bilingual anthology “The Black Man” (“L’Homme noir”), which appeared in 2005 and was republished in 2015, offers the most extensive collection of Esenin’s poems in France (90), of which 50 are new texts. The introductory article “The Myths of Sergey Esenin”, which draws a portrait of the most widely read Russian poet at the present time and gives a rather thorough analysis of his work, is distinguished by its independent value.
