About the author:
Abstract:
The article describes the version of the emergence of F.I. Tyutchev’s famous image “crystal day” in his poem “There is in the beginning of autumn…” (1857). Based on Tyutchev’s creative method (work on the road, significant influence of “external” impressions on the poetic world), memoirs of his environment and other factors, the author comes to the conclusion that the birth of the epithet “crystal” could be influenced by the Transfiguration Church with a crystal interior (1855), located in relative proximity to the Tyutchev’s estate Ovstug.
