Abstract:
The article deals with the collective scientific work “History of Russian Literature of the 19th century”, edited by D.N. Ovsyaniko-Kulikovsky, containing a review and analysis of the social and literary life of Russia in the 19th century. The position of the editor and authors, the originality of the construction of the multivolume edition is noted, significant images and techniques are described. The article highlights the main advantages and disadvantages of the “History of Russian Literature”, an attempt is made to identify the most important artistic features of this collective work, which at one time enjoyed great popularity.
