Abstract:
The article presents the results of studies of photographs of M. Gorky and I.A. Bunin. An attempt is made to evaluate the informative value of the gift inscriptions on the photographs. The author’s photoes analyzed in the article with gift inscriptions became a source for modeling
personal relationships between writers. Journalistic (or artistic) and home photoes become visual evidence of the time, which entails the awareness of these photoes as documents of the era. The corpus of photographs also allows us to determine the social ties of the writers community before the October Revolution.
