Abstract:
The article is devoted to the problems of formation and origins of the newly written Chukchi literature. The mythological basis of the heroes in the works of Yuri Rytkheu about the life and fate of the Eskimo people is considered. The prose writer’s desire is shown to reflect an objective picture of the world not only through real events, but also to the psychology of the characters who find themselves between two socio-historical formations. The features of the influence of Russian and foreign literature on the work of Yuri Rytkheu are revealed.
