Abstract: This article contains the first printed transcription of the draft autograph of the second edition of “Taras Bulba” (1842), today at the N. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine. The transcription is devoid of third-party additions and edits and reproduces the features of the original. A short introduction discusses the features of this handwritten text and the various modalities of its use and reproduction in previous editions of N. Gogol’s works.
