Abstract:
The article notes that during the emigrant period, the “estate topos” received a new value perspective from Bunin, appearing in a spiritual and artistic form, and not as a real location: it turns into a space of memory, love and creativity. The author of the article is convinced that a closer study of this phenomenon requires an interdisciplinary approach involving in the analysis of Bunin’s works not only the methods of literary criticism, but also the methods of other sciences: philosophy, psychology and natural science. The article examines the spiritual component of estate life and its reflection in three works of the writer’s emigrant period — “Name Day”, “Mitya’s Love” and “The Life of Arsenyev”, analyzes in detail various images and loci that form the spatiotemporal plan of the narrative, explores the elements of external and internal world of the hero, associated with estate life, binary oppositions, the role of memories in the formation of the images of the main characters and building the integrity of the works is shown.
