The research was carried out at the A.M. Gorky Institute of World Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences with the financial support of the Russian Science Foundation (project No. 22-18-00347 “Ivan Bunin’s Early Work: Poetry, Prose, Criticism, Journalism, Translations (1883–1902)”).
Abstract:
The publication presents a number of attributed correspondences of Ivan Bunin, published anonymously in the “Kievlyanin” newspaper in 1892–1894. The introductory article describes the methodology by which the authors were able to identify and attribute anonymous texts published in the “Kievlyanin” (68 in total). However, due to the lack of documentary evidence sufficient for the indisputable establishment of Ivan Bunin’s authorship, those selected correspondences will be placed not in the main body of the corresponding volume, but in the “Dubia” section of the future Ivan Bunin’s Complete Collection of Works and Letters.
