Abstract:
The article is devoted to the publication and commenting of a part of the epistolary legacy of Mikhail Muravyоv, the famous Russian writer of the last third of the 18th century. In this work, 43 letters of the poet to his father N.A. Muravyov and sister F.N. Muravyova, which were sent in 1778–1779 and which were stored in the Department of Written Sources of the State Historical Museum (Moscow), are introduced into academic circulation. It is an important source for the reconstruction of court and cultural life in the second half of the 18th century. The letters are filled with court news, as well as news about theatrical and literary novelties. These materials allow us to reconstruct the details of Muravyov's biography, restore his literary, official and social connections, as well as analyze his reading preferences and artistic ideas. So, in particular, they shed light on Muravyov's relations with N.I. Novikov, M.M. Kheraskov, V.I. Maikov, V.P. Petrov, Ya.B. Knyazhnin, I.A. Dmitrevsky, V.V. Kapnist, N.A. Lvov, S.G. Domashnev, D.I. Khvostov, etc.
