Abstract:
The article presents a brief history of the work of the Mints Commission on collecting interviews in 1943 from active participants in the Battle of Stalingrad — commanders, political workers and soldiers of the 62nd Army. Taking as an example conversations with V.I. Chuikov, N.I. Krylov, L.N. Gurtiev, I.M. Brysin and others, an attempt was made to perform a detailed comparative historical analysis of the interviews and the writer Vasiliy Grossman’s briefly records from his notebooks, where his impressions of meetings with these same people in the autumn-winter of 1942 are fixed.
