Abstract:

The article is dedicated to the memory of the remarkable teacher, Doctor of Philology, Professor T.A. Nikonova (24.11.1941–26.01.2025), who stood at the origins of the scientific study of A. Platonov’s work in Voronezh. In the late 1960s, T.A. Nikonova proposed a professional approach to the historicization of events and facts reinterpreted in Platonov’s text. Her commentary on the story “The Epifanian Locks,” published in the now legendary collection of articles and materials on the writer’s work, is still in demand in academic circles today. The researcher’s early works give rise to her articles on the “local legends” in the plot of the story “The Epifanian Locks,” “Foreign” space created by Andrey Platonov, and the significance of the writer’s work for the formation of the “Voronezh text” of Russian culture. Tamara A. Nikonova’s contribution to the comprehension of the writer’s artistic legacy requires further thorough understanding. The source study basis of the article is the literary scholar’s letters, her appearances in the press (interviews and notes), and handwritten materials found in the researcher’s papers. The authors of the article express their gratitude to Anna Gryaznova, who provided a number of documents for study and publication.
