Abstract:
The article mainly focuses on the role of M. Gorky as a center of attraction for the Italian intelligentsia during the Sorrento’s years and on the multiple role of Olga Resnevich-Signorelli in this context. Her correspondence with A.M. Gorky, E.P. Peshkova and N.A. Peshkova, from the Signorelli Archive at the Cini Foundation (Venice) and Gorky’s Archive at IWL RAS, provides significant information and reveals new details about already known episodes (i.e. the relationship between Gorky and the Italian writer Mario Puccini).
