Abstract:

The theme of the formation of a “new man” is сentral throughout the period of the close friendship of A.M. Gorky and A.A. Bogdanov, with the first letters in 1904, to intensive cooperation since the end of 1907, to the personal gap in 1910 in their correspondence stands out that conversation and controversy about the defeat of individualism, the construction of new collective and “religious” worldview, of overcoming the contrast of humanity and nature, including the most profound contradiction, i.e. the man’s death, interwoven with the experiences of the new schools working in Capri and with difficult personal relationships two of the most important figures in the Russian revolutionary movement in the Russian culture of the early 20th century.
