Abstract:
The article is based on the work experience of its author as a part of the group for the study of the life and work of S. Esenin, which is headed by Doctor of Philology, Chief Researcher of the Department of Modern Russian Literature and Literature of the Russian abroad N. Shubnikova-Guseva. Currently, the main attention of the research team is focused on the preparation of the Esenin Encyclopedia. In 2020 its first issue was published — “Memorable Places and Literary Geography.” There is a frontal work on encyclopedic articles devoted to the works of Esenin. The article discusses two poems by the poet — “That’s the Evening. Dew...” and “Where there are Cabbage Beds...” These poems the author designated as “the very first,” dating them to 1910 during preparation a Collection of poems in 1925. The material is prepared on the basis of preliminary versions of encyclopedic articles about these works, it takes into account the opinions of contemporaries and researchers, and also named works of painting and graphics, which received the Esenin title “That’s the Evening. Dew...”
