Abstract:
The article provides for the fi rst time a comprehensive analysis of all the qualifi ed verifi ed inscriptions of S.A. Esenin. It proves that most of the poet’s inscriptions indicate the peculiarities of the relationship between the poet and his addressees, contain hints of events related to their communication, the author’s wishes. It also refl ects the creative approach of Esenin to the creation of the script. Despite laconicism, many inscriptions are original: contain poetic impromptu, the word game, imbued with humor. They also refl ect Esenin’s views on imaginism, art, give an assessment of the addressee’s creativity, demonstrate the poet’s judgments about modern life. In the inscriptions Esenin often gives autocharacteristics, that is usually depends on a certain creative period and the image of the author. He approves itself as the Russian national poet, which manifests itself in the elation to the addressee, in the nature and purpose of the inscription.
