Abstract:
The article is devoted to Vera Bulich, one of the brightest poets of Russian Helsingfors (Helsinki). It is shown here the poetical pedigree of V. Bulich’s creative activity — from the experience of Russian classics, the discoveries of the silver age (Blok, Akhmatova, I. Annenskyi, etc.). The detailed analysis of four books of poetry by V. Bulich — “Mayatnik” (1934), “Plennyi veter” (1938), “Burelom” (1947) and “Vetvi” (1954) gives an opportunity to follow evolution of V. Bulich’s creative activity and, at the same time, internal integrity of her poetical world which combined a deep lyricism, confession tone of her early poems; way to the vastness of a historical time; and rejection of the war, faithfulness to the far motherland. It is shown in the article V. Bulich’s activity as a literary critic who has managed to see the significant tendencies of development of the poetry of Russian exile. The archive materials from the National Library of Finland, where V. Bulich worked for the rest of her life, are used in the article.
