Abstract:
Based on the memoirs of Margarita Andreevna Borodaevskaya On my meetings with writers, which are being introduced into scientific circulation for the first time, the relationship between A.N. Tolstoy and poet V.V. Borodaevsky in 1909−1911 are studied. Borodaevskaya, without adhering to a strict sequence in the events presentation, recorded life episodes and situations that influenced making certain decisions, and as a result, captured their experience and emotions. The memoirs contain interesting factual material, recreate Tolstoy’s portrait, allow one to judge his thoughts and feelings, and also add other touches to the already known picture of literary life of a particular historical and cultural period, which, of course, makes them a valuable source for studying the biographical space of the writer.
