Abstract
The article discusses the place and importance of the estate world in the artistic and compositional content of Boris Zaitsev’s tetralogy “The Journey of Gleb” and in the author’s concept of being. The peculiarity of the hero’s perception of the natural environment as the beauty of God’s world is noted. Particular attention is paid to the topos of “estate love”: the ironic illumination of romantic love and the ontological nature of maternal and filial love, in terms of expression correlated with the Virgin icons.
