Lauren Blackwood’s novel Within These Wicked Walls is presented by Russian “MIF” Publishing as a dark fantasy retelling novel of Charlotte Brontё’s novel Jane Eyre. The article considers the research of construction Blackwood’s novel: which elements of the original text have been preserved, which have been modified, which is a product of the author’s imagination. With the help of the comparative analysis of texts the ways of constructing a retelling novel.
