Abstract:

The monograph is the first generalizing work devoted to the creative dialogue between Yesenin and Klyuev in the literary and philosophical context of the epoch. The book examines the main stages of this dialogue, as well as the evolution of artistic and ideological dominants in the creative consciousness of both poets. The work of Klyuev and Yesenin is analyzed in the light of the formation and development of the main ideals that united the poets: religious, social and creative. The identification and analysis of the sources of these ideals entails referring to the works of A.S. Pushkin, M.Y. Lermontov, A.V. Koltsov, A.A. Blok, Andrei Bely, A.M. Dobrolyubov, V.I. Ivanov, R.V. Ivanov-Razumnik, L.D. Semenov, L.N. Tolstoy, V.S. Solovyov, F.-R. de Lamennais and others. The book is intended for philologists, historians and specialists in cultural studies, teachers and students, and anyone interested in the work of Yesenin and Klyuev, the history of Russian literature and culture.
