Abstract:

The book presents the results of the First All-Russian Conference on the topic “German-Language Prose: Artistic and Research Practices of the First Decades of the 21st Century”. The conference was held on October 7, 2023 by the German Philology Department of the Samara National Research University Named after Academician S. P. Korolev (Samara University) in cooperation with the Center for German Studies of the IWL RAS Department of the Contemporary European and American Literatures. Topical issues in the study of the latest German-language prose of the 21st century were discussed (thematic constants, artistic and research strategies, etc.). The conference demonstrated the coordinated work of Germanists from many universities in Russia (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Nizhni Novgorod, Samara, Saratov, Voronezh, Tambov, Togliatti, Ivanovo). The work of the conference contributed to the formation of a unified academic and research space for further German-language literature studies, attracting young prospective scholars and laying ground for new topics that may later be reflected in monographic and dissertation research.

  • Keywords: Humanitarian knowledge, academic conference, German-language fiction of the 21st century, history, cultural memory, poetics, tradition.
