Abstract:

The article examines the work of P.D. Druzhinin as a representative of the New Peasant poetry of the 1920s. Special attention is paid to the influence that the poetry of S.A. Esenin had on his formation. Using the example of poems from Druzhinin’s collection “Straw Noise”, it is noted that it is the patriotic basis of the lyrics of the poets who praised peasant Russia, the similarity of themes and artistic imagery, proximity to folklore, autobiographical narrative, simplicity, melodiousness of verse and confessional confidence that bring Druzhinin closer to Esenin. It is revealed why the reason for N. Bukharin’s feuilleton “Evil Notes” was Druzhinin’s poem “Russian”. It is proved that these poems are analyzed by Bukharin subjectively, without taking into account the peculiarities of the author’s irony. It is traced how this poem acquired a kind of continuation during the Great Patriotic War.
