Abstract:
The study classifies and summarises information about museum objects from the “Books” collection, united by the common theme of belonging to A.S. Pushkin. The greatest attention is paid to the memorial items from the collection, which belonged both to S.A. Esenin personally and to his relatives. The most significant item in the collection — Pushkin’s book “The History of Pugachev’s Rebellion” (Complete Works, vol. 6), which belonged to Esenin, is described. During the preparation of the article the output data of one of the memorial editions — A.S. Pushkin’s book “Collected Works”, which belonged to the poet’s father A.N. Esenin, were specified. The materials of the research devoted to the clarification of data on one of the books of the collection — the first posthumous 11-volume complete collection of Pushkin’s works, published in 1837–1841 and according to legend belonging to Pushkin’s contemporary — are presented. There is an overview of all the copies of Pushkin’s books, which in different years entered the collection of the museum-reserve. The presented collection gives an idea of the principles of museum acquisition, which primarily takes into account the time of Esenin’s life and his opportunity to get acquainted with the editions.
