Abstract:
An overview of French stage adaptations of Dostoevsky’s Notes from Underground is presented in the article. It is noted that most of them are low-key and smalltown, as well as short lived. They vary in their titles and the way they are attributed to Dostoevsky. Plays by S. Pitaqaj and B. Verhaert are analyzed in detail.
