Abstract:
The article is devoted to the analysis of the problems that arose during the preparation of “The Dictionary of the Rhymes by S.A. Esenin.” The author describes the situations when the graphics of the poetic text deprived the Esenin’s verse and stanza of visual certainty, and the approximate rhyme could not serve as a sound marker of the end of the verse. The author presents recommendations that allow the compiler to find the rhyming consonances of Esenin in contexts with high uncertainty. The problem of the left borders of the Esenin rhyme is considered, it is established that, rhyming, the poet actively uses prepositions and conjunctions, many of which were not previously included in rhyming consonances. It is shown how the inaccuracy of Esenin’s rhymes is compensated by the rhythmic identity of rhyming words, as well as vowels and consonants in words located outside the rhyme pairs.
