Abstract:
The article deals with publications related to the name of Sergey Esenin, which appeared on the pages of the Russian emigrant newspaper “Novoe Russkoye Slovo” (New York) in 1941. The focus is on Alexander Kurilovich’s essay “Sergey Esenin (On the Fifteenth Anniversary of His Death)”, which became one of the notable milestones of Eseniniana in the USA. The author of the article also analyzes the notes and essays of V. Levin, V. Mansvetov, M. Stotsky, D. Opalov and others. It is shown how assessments of Esenin’s life and work in emigration change in the year of the German attack on the USSR.
