Abstract:
The article is devoted to one of the unrealized projects of A.N. Tolstoy and P.E. Schegolev — the release of a feature film called Rasputin Conspiracy based on their play The Conspiracy of the Empress (1925). The script of The Rasputin Conspiracy had been written by Tolstoy and Shchegolev by the summer of 1925. In the same year, its synopsis was published in the Life of Art magazine. In the fall of 1925, the script was discussed at a meeting of the Artistic Council of the Leningrad State Film Factory, where it was accepted for production, taking into account the comments and recommendations. However, the shooting of the movie was not started. One of the reasons for this could be the unwillingness of The Rasputin Conspiracy co-authors to respond to criticism and finalize the script.
