Abstract:
This article is devoted to defining and substantiating the foundational positions that underlie the system of principles necessary for ensuring the effectiveness of the process of developing an academic commentary on M.A. Sholokhov’s novel “And Quiet Flows the Don”. The implementation of this complex task is intrinsically linked with the latest research on the life and works of the author, as well as with the outcomes of textological studies conducted during the preparation of a scientifically verified text of the novel. The final, most detailed part of the article provides a motivated characterization of the most important types of commentary on Sholokhov’s novel.
