Abstract:
The article is devoted to the little-studied problem of traditions and innovations of S.A. Esenin’s mythopoetics. It is shown that the desire to be a “unique flower” is organically inherent in the poet and was combined with a keen attention to philosophical and literary tradition. Already in the first poem “Birch” (1913), published under the pseudonym Ariston, referring to the classical tradition on a motif-figurative level, the poet boldly overcomes the sad and gloomy aura that had developed around the three-stop trochee in the poetry of I.A. Bunin, V.Ya. Bryusov, S.M. Gorodetsky, S.D. Drozhzhin, D.D. Burlyuk and others, and creates the only “sunny” poem. Esenin called “the combination of opposite meanings” the main feature of his poetry, which he justified as a reflection of the natural meaning and meaning of folk life and creativity, as a mirror image inherent in nature and his own worldview and, above all, our cultural national code. The article uses the example of Esenin’s works from different years.
