Abstract:
The article presents a translation into Russian of the memoirs of N.F. Melniková-Papoušková about Russian writers, namely Vs. Ivanov, E. Zamyatin, B. Pilnyak and L. Leonov, with a short preamble. The author of memoirs — a Russian philologist, folklorist — is a prominent figure of the Prague emigration of the first post-revolutionary wave, who made a significant contribution to the development of Russian-Czech literary relations. She published a lot of works (monographs, articles, reviews) in Prague and other European cities about Russian literature, both in Russian for emigrant publications, and in Czech for the Czech audience. Also Melniková-Papoušková introduced Czech literature to the Russian-speaking public. The memoirs about mentioned authors, written as a result of trips to the USSR, were published in the 1920s in Czech in the Prague liberal-democratic literary magazine “Rozpravy Aventina”, where Melniková-Papoušková was a regular author.
