Abstract:

The article examines and compares the translations of Dostoevsky’s novella into German, namely the translations by A. Markow, E. Kaerrick (under the pseudonym E.K. Rahsin) and H. Röhl. Some variants of the translation reception of the story are considered, special attention is paid to the concept and metaphor of “underground” in its German interpretations.
